About Department
The Department was established in the year 2017 with the inception of B.Sc Textile and Fashion Designing for students who have passion in fashion and want build a career in Textiles, Apparel, Garment and Fashion industry. It has well equipped and modernized labs with specialized facilities.
The Department intends to train the students as professional designers in the area of textile and apparel through several co-curricular activities such as conferences, seminars, symposiums and industrial visits. It also intends to impart knowledge on craft, handloom, MSME and cottage sectors with the knowledge of quality awareness, designing, dyeing and marketing through short term training programmes, internships and workshops. The department also offers add-on courses, certificate courses, value-added courses, vocational education training to enrich skills needed in textile, fashion and designing industry.
The Incubation Center of the department allows the students to acquire entrepreneurial skills and provides a platform to become entrepreneurs by establishing their own labels and brands.
